The real struggle is to sustain you r position: Daisy

Daisy, who started her career as an assistant to choreographer Ganesh Acharya, was one of those lucky ones to get a break in Bollywood opposite Salman Khan. After winning hearts of thousands with her her performance in Jai Ho, the stunning beauty bagged other big projects like Hate Story 3 and Race 3. As of now, she is all set to grace the screen with her performance in the Indian romantic drama flick Ramratan.
Calling it an amazing journey Daisy says, "I really consider myself fortunate. I got to work with megastars like Salman Khan in the very first movie. And when your debut film is with somebody who is so big, all the eyes are on you. Doing one such film covers up for that entire struggle you faced back then, but at the end, the real struggle is to sustain that position."
Daisy, who has worked in three Kannada films before her Bollywood debut, is comfortable doing movies in various languages. "It's all a learning process. For me, it doesn't really matter whether I am working in Kannada or Tamil film industry. Obviously, the language is very alien to me yet on the same side when I see myself doing a film in a different language, I think I am improving on my memory. You have to focus on your emotions and then learn the dialogues. Also, the emotions should be immensely strong so that the audience can relate to what you are trying to convey. That is the reason I was extremely comfortable doing Jai ho, as Hindi is the language I am familiar to. After gaining the experience of working in films where I didn't know the language, I was confident enough to step into the Hindi film industry," she adds further.
Willing to play strong, challenging characters that are equally interesting to watch, the Hate story 3 actor feels that the film industry has evolved in the recent times. "The audiences have become quite aware of what they want to see. Today, they understand the difference between dark cinema, parallel cinema and commercial cinema. It completely depends on their mood and the kind of the film they want to see. It may be a good content movie or slapstick."
So is the mood of the audience the deciding factor for the film's success? "Well, I think apart from that, execution plays another vital role. There were many good films that couldn't do well on the box office because the execution was not good. The second thing is targeting the right audience. In today's date, even the worst of the films can do well if you understand the entire ball game of promoting the movie in the right manner. Last but not the least; the script has to be the strongest component of the project. Everything is secondary."
As a part of the entertainment industry, Daisy also expresses her take on the whole Harvey Weinstein fiasco and the #MeToo trend. "I personally feel that this hashtag thing is going since donkey years. It doesn't really help in solving the issue. Moreover, cases of sexual harassment and casting couch happen in every field. From the hotel industry to the modeling line, it exists everywhere. But for no reason, glamour world is always highlighted the most." As of now, Daisy is keeping her fingers crossed for Ramratan and looks forward to play 'the most interesting character' in the next big project Race 3.
