Rs 200-crore extortion case - Jacqueline grilled by Delhi Police for eight hours

Jacqueline Fernandez, who is currently embroiled in a Rs 200-crore extortion case wherein she has been linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar and his associates, was recently questioned by Delhi Police by the 'Economic Offences Wing' (EOW) of the Delhi Police for over eight hours in the case. She arrived at the Mandir Marg office of the probe agency in the national capital at 11.30 am and left just before 8 pm, as reported by a leading news agency.
The case is also being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav, as reported by the news agency, said Fernandez was questioned about her alleged role in the multi-crore money laundering case linked to Chandrashekhar and about the gifts she took from him among other issues.
Actor Nora Fatehi and Pinky Irani, who allegedly introduced Fernandez to Chandrashekhar, reached the EOW's office on September 15, where both were confronted by the officials to clear a few things.
Sharing details on Jacqueline's interrogation, Ravindra Yadav told a top news organisation, "Fernandez was questioned today. We questioned her about the gifts she took from Sukesh and other issues. Pinky Irani, who introduced Jacqueline to Sukesh, was also called. We'll call both Jacqueline and Pinky again and accordingly, we'll proceed."
The Delhi Police, as reported by sources of another leading news agency, found inconsistencies in the responses of Jacqueline Fernandez and Pinky Irani, both of whom were summoned by the 'Economic Offences Wing' on September 14 in connection with an extortion case linked to conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. The senior officials will discuss Jacqueline's statements amongst themselves before deciding on when to summon her again.
Conman Chandrashekhar, who is currently in jail, is accused of cheating various people, including high-profile individuals such as former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Mohan Singh's wife Aditi Singh, as per reported by the previous leading news agency.
