Los Angeles: Latin singer Selena Quintanilla is all set to be honoured with a posthumous star on Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Known as the 'Queen of Tejano music', the singer will be bestowed with her star on November 3 by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, reported Variety.
Quintanilla went on to carve her niche as a music and fashion icon in the late 20th century, before she was fatally shot by Yolanda Saldivar, her friend and former manager of her Selena Etc boutiques in 1995. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce president Edward James Olmos said, "Selena deserves the star. Her music stands the test of time. She was a brilliant artist. I just wish she were here. It's not fair."
Quintanilla went on to release six LPs in her short lifetime, the last of which, "Dreaming of You" would be released posthumously in 1995. On October 17, Google celebrated the 28th anniversary of her first studio album, 'Selena' by dedicating a special doodle to its release. She also ranks among the most influential Latin artists of all time.
