From engineer to singer: Siddharth's journey of passion

New Delhi: Siddharth Mohan proved that no dream is impossible to accomplish if you are truly dedicated towards it. The budding singer recently recorded a duet, 'Tappe', with Aditi Singh Sharma –

Bollywood playback singer – known for songs like 'Befikra', 'Offo', 'Dhat Teri Ki' etc. Sharing his joy of working with a well-known name of the music industry, Siddharth said, "It was just amazing. I never felt that I am working with an established Bollywood singer as she is so humble and down to earth. There was a sense of comfort between us as if we have already done tons of projects together. It was fun shooting for the video as well. She really cooperated in every possible way. I remember that we were shooting till 5 am in Jalandhar and it was chilling cold, but not for once she fretted."
The Punjabi singer wishes to sing for Salman and Shah Rukh later in his career. But does he have any specific plans to create a niche and survive in an industry with such tremendous competition?
"All I can do is give my 100% and surrender the rest to people and God. But I feel really blessed to receive so much of appreciation and love from everyone, it's more valuable than any other award or reward," he answered.
Siddharth, who won thousands of hearts through his melodic voice in 'Le Jaana', holds a degree in engineering. It is his love for music and appreciation from people that gave him the courage to make a career in music. The engineer turned singer started performing at the young age of 13. "Earlier it was just casual but the difference came when I jumped into music full time. Earlier my family was a bit concerned but now they are the ones who are proud that I followed my passion. I would rather share the lines from the movie 3 Idiots that says, "achi naukri nahi hogi toh bank credit card nahi dega aur baap beti nahi dega" so I have been through this part," he elaborated.
Till date, he has composed Sufi melodies and Punjabi numbers majorly. Speaking of the reason behind his inclination towards this form of music he said, "Sufi, Folk, and Devotion just comes naturally to me as all these genres have one common source i.e its 'food for the soul'. I feel connected to the soul when I am singing such genres."
The singer is highly grateful to the digital platform for the recognition he has received. "It's really a blessing in this era because I could reach to millions of people only through social media that too within few days."
