Ananya Panday admits being a validation-seeking sort of person

Ananya Panday is currently garnering applause for her movie ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ which was released on OTT a few weeks ago. Next, the ‘Dream Girl 2’ star will be seen in a cyber-thriller tentatively titled ‘Control’, directed by Vikramaditya Motwane.

In an interview, Ananya opened up about how she is grateful for the opportunity and was in initial shock. She told ‘Galatta Plus’ that working with Vikram sir was actually a dream for her because she had watched ‘Udaan’ countless times, a movie that happened to be her mom’s favorite.

When her team informed her that Vikram sir wanted to meet her, she initially expressed disbelief, questioning the purpose of the meeting and wondering if he intended to work with her. Upon meeting him, Ananya even asked, “Are you sure you’re directing this film?” It took her some time to register the fact that she was working with Vikram sir.

Ananya further admitted that her self-belief is very low. She’s a validation-seeking sort of person. So even when on set, she needs her directors to confirm, like, 10 times, that the shot was okay. She’s always like, ‘Was it okay? Should I do one more?’ Even when someone praises her work or compliments her, her first reaction is, ‘Really? Are you sure? Me?’ So she has that, which she’s trying to get better at. She doesn’t know where it comes from. She thinks it’s always been in her personality.

Motwane, known for critical hits such as ‘Udaan’, ‘Lootera’, ‘Bhavesh Joshi Superhero’ and ‘AK vs AK’, said that his new movie has a modern-day appeal and is very relevant for the current times.

“The film is a ‘screenlifer’ and will be completely told via the screens we consume - computers, phones and televisions. It’s something that neither me nor Ananya has ever attempted before and I’m super excited to collaborate with her on this journey,” the filmmaker said in an earlier statement.
