Ensure communal harmony: Mamata

Banerjee was holding monthly review meeting at her residence on Saturday afternoon. During discussion, the Bangladesh massacre came up and she urged her party leaders to work to ensure communal harmony.

“Though it is the internal matter of Bangladesh, yet we must keep our eyes and ears open and must ensure that communal peace and harmony is maintained,” she added.

The Chief Minister further added that West Bengal has a tradition of communal harmony and any attempt to disturb it will be thwarted.

She asked the district presidents to go back to their areas and organise meetings to spread the message of peace and harmony. She also urged the leaders to intensify their vigil against the rumour mongers who always try to utilise such situations.

“Ensure that people are not swayed by rumours. Ask them to maintain cool and cooperate with the administration to execute orders,” she said.
