A woman constable of the Delhi police was booked for abetment of suicide of her engineer husband, who died when he jumped before a moving train, police said Wednesday.
Dilbag Singh, 32, committed suicide by jumping in front of a train near Garhi Harsaru railway station here.
'He left a suicide note in which he alleged that his wife Kavita used to torture him mentally and often beat him. She threatened the victim and his family of dire consequences,' a police officer said.
Kavita, a Delhi police constable, was posted in the Fatehpuri Beri area of south Delhi.
The driver of the train told the police that the way the victim jumped clearly showed that it was suicide, and not an accident.
'On the complaint of the deceased's father Jai Singh, we have booked Kavita under section 306 of IPC,' a police official said.
The deceased lived in the Basai Enclave area with Kavita and their nine-year-old son. He was working with an auto company as an engineer.
