Employees may have to write details of good work before retirement

The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DPPW) has proposed to create a platform for retiring employees to showcase significant achievement made during their service period. ‘While the retiring employees can look back with satisfaction and a sense of fulfilment, this would also create a database of useful suggestions and information,’ the DPPW said in an order.

It has also circulated a concept papers to all central government ministries and departments seeking their comments. ‘Initially this facility is to be provided only to retiring central government employees. Employees retiring in the next six months may be provided an online facility to submit their outstanding achievements. Submission would be voluntary,’ said the concept paper.

A write-up not more than 1,000 words, may be submitted along with the Form 5 (pension application form which is required to be submitted six months before retirement), it said.
