Elephant carcass found in Kaziranga

The carcass of a female elephant was found inside the Kaziranga National Park on Wednesday, park officials said.

The carcass of the jumbo was found in a decomposed state in a ditch near Teenibeel camp in Agratoli range of the park.

Forest officials suspect that the elephant was killed in fighting with other pachyderms about three days ago.

Earlier on 22 November, the carcass of another female elephant was recovered at Hukani Veruni area adjacent to the Kaziranga National Park.
