Elegy to the nomadic Tibetan life

Transforming every last sunday of the month into a treat for film buffs, the ongoing series of the best and rarest films from the first edition of Dharamsala Film Festival brings you Summer Pasture-a riveting snapshot of the diminishing nomadic community of Tibetan herders. It is a critically acclaimed feature length documentary by filmmakers Lynn True, Nelson Walker, and Tsering Perlo.

Termed as 'a consistently compelling portrayal of Tibetan hinterland' by New York Times critic Stephen Holden, it was filmed during the summer of 2007. The film offers a rare opportunity to see the lives of a highly insular community in ransition. It was awarded the Best Feature Length Film award at the 2010 Banff Mountain Film Festival.
