The victim here was a 10-year-old boy who accidentally fell from the terrace of his house and came into contact with high-tension wires.
Nitish Kumar (10) was chasing a snapped kite at the terrace of his house. ‘The boy was standing at the edge, he soon lost his balance and fell on the high-tension wires adjacent to his premises,’ said a police official. He further said that by the time the boy was taken to the hospital, he had lost his life.
Soon, locals and family members of the deceased started agitating against Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) on the ground of severe negligence. They also staged a protest in the area, the official added.
TPDDL says that it is another case of illegal construction. ‘A notice has been sent to the victim’s family informing them that the premise is in violation of the Master Plan of NCT of Delhi,’ said spokesperson of TPDDL.
This is the third case of death due to electrocution in the past seven days. And the second time that TPDDL has found the victim’s premise to be in violation of the master plan of NCT of Delhi.
