EC issues show-cause notice to Lalu

New Delhi: The Election Commission on Thursday slapped a show-cause notice on RJD chief Lalu Prasad, saying prima facie he had violated the model code of conduct by allegedly making casteist remarks in the <g data-gr-id="6">run up</g> to Bihar Assembly polls. “...the Commission is, prima facie, of the opinion that by making the aforesaid statements, you have violated the code of conduct...the commission gives you an opportunity to explain your stand in making the above said statements on or before 3 pm of October 6, 2015, failing which the ECI shall take a decision without further reference to you,” the notice said.
