East civic body teams up with private foundation to offer quality education

East Delhi Municipal Corporation on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Tech Mahindra Foundation to set up a Teachers’ Education Institute in Dilshad Garden.
Chairman of standing committee Mahek Singh said ‘EDMC has lot of firsts to its credit and other corporations are following us whether it is a matter of simplification of trade/health trade licenses or improving services.’
Municipal commissioner S S Yadav said, ‘We want to bring quality education to the students of EDMC primary schools. We have taken up this project to train teachers with latest and modern education methodologies.’ Tech Mahindra Foundation would help Dilshad Garden Municipal Primary School evolve into a student friendly school, he added.
Loveleen Kacker, CEO of Tech Mahindra Foundation, said these schools can be improved with private partnership.
