East, central Delhi to face power outage

Several areas in east and central Delhi will face power outages for next 10 days as BSES Yamuna Power Limited is planning to work on its infrastructure. ‘We will carry out work to modernise the 66/11 KV Grid in Preet Vihar. As part of the plan, the existing oil filled circuit breakers and panels will be replaced with state-of-the-art gas filled vacuum circuit breakers (VCB),’ a BYPL official said. The supply of power will be affected in various areas in east and central Delhi from 8 November to 18 November. The work will take place between 10 am and 5 pm. The official said BYPL was making arrangements to supply power in the areas from an alternate source to ensure that there are no outages during Diwali.
