Delhi University Teachers’ Association (DUTA) and Delhi University Colleges and Karamcharis Union (DUCKU) on Friday jointly held a Dharna at Ramjas College, demanding action against the college principal Rajendra Prasad based on the UGC fact-finding report which has indicted him on several charges of irregularities.
The report has found him guilty for illegalities in admissions, appointments, financial irregularities and discrimination against employees from the reserved category.
‘The principal has managed to dodge disciplinary action by higher authorities due against him for his misdeeds and illegalities in the manner of running the college. The latest indictment comes from a fact-finding report submitted by a high-level UGC committee (constituted on the order by the Delhi High Court) in May 2012,’ said Nandita Narain, president of DUTA.
The principal of college, Rajendra Prashad has denied the allegations. ‘The matter is sub-judice and they should have waited for the outcome of the High Court,’ he said in his defence.
