DU’s teachers association alleges corruption in Aurobindo College

DUTA, in its statement to the media said, ‘Aurobindo College is running under the shed of corruption and severe maladministration of the principal, Dr. Hari Om.’ The body went on to add, ‘We carried some documents concerning charges of serious financial and administrative irregularities, which merit a thorough and independent inquiry.’

Nandita Narain, president of DUTA said, ‘We have documents from staff associations and other academic bodies in the college. These documents carry information regarding the date of birth of Hari Om, on the basis of which he should have retired in July 2013.

‘Other irregularities include the non-appointment of PA, librarian, physical education teachers, misuse of OBC grant, for substandard construction that has dangerous implications for the building, given the Metro line below, no sports admissions for years, serious mismanagement of PF and other financial irregularities have caused immense loss to the college and its employees’.

‘In an attempt to scuttle any such inquiry, Hari Om, on the eve of his retirement, has sacked vice principal Dr. Meenakshi Gupta from her post, without the approval of the college’s governing body, she added.

When sought for an opinion Hari Om, principal of Aurbindo, told Millennium Post, ‘Please don’t talk to me in this regard. Call the director of south campus or vice-chancellor of the varsity. I don’t have that much power in my hand.’
