Duo held for robbery, snatching

Two persons were arrested for their alleged involvement in various robbery and snatching cases in the city, police said on Sunday. 32-year-old Sanjeev and Naveen, 28, were arrested from Hari Nagar by West District police team after a 55-year-old woman had complained that the duo had snatched her chain near Satnarayan Mandir on last Friday. According to police, a robbed golden chain, a country-made pistol and a knife have been recovered from the duo. On October 12, Jaswant Kaur, a resident from Fateh Nagar, was going to market when the bike-borne duo stopped her and forcefully took away her gold chain at gun-point. ;A country-made pistol loaded with two live cartridges and a knife was seized from Sanjeev and Naveen. Both of them are notorious criminals and have number of cases registered against them. Sanjeev is a history-sheeter,’ a police official said.
