DU writes to Delhi police to beef up security for polls

The university has also asked the Delhi police to beef up the security for polls. ‘It has been found that printed posters are used by some candidates which is in violation of rule. So, a notice has been issued to 15 candidates who were found using printed poster,’ said DS Rawat, chief election

A notice has also been issued to police officials at Maurice Nagar police station to take action against students who are found violating rules of Lyngdoh committee.
For the security arrangements for DUSU elections scheduled for 12 September, Rawat said ‘a letter has been given to joint commissioner of police (North) and, DCP (Northwest) to make necessary arrangements. Two police officials will be there to transport EVMs.
