: Delhi University teachers, students and non-teaching staff held a joint protest on Wednesday against the Vice Chancellor and burnt his effigy to express frustration against the varsity administration. The Delhi University Teachers Association [DUTA] is holding a relay hunger strike for almost a month to press for its demands, and some students groups and ‘karamcharis’ have also joined in the protest lately. DUTA members voiced their feeling of ‘alienation’ from the VC and said they were feeling suffocated at not being heard. In a statement, DUTA claimed the university security tried to prevent them from holding the protest and burn the effigy, but they continued with their demonstration. The DUTA executive will now meet on Saturday to review the ongoing indefinite relay hunger strike and chalk out the future course of action.
