After Gujarat Chief Minister Narendar Modi, it was Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda who faced the wrath of the hundreds of students.
Around 200 students led a protest against Hooda’s visit to the Delhi university as the chief guest of an event organised by the Faculty of Law.
The students belonging to Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) demanded action against Hooda. They also shouted slogans against the Congress government.
The protest was led by Bharat Singh, MLA, Najafgarh, and Dinesh Dagar, general secretary of INSO and spokesperson, Indian National Lok Dal.
According to Dagar, ‘Hooda has done nothing in Haryana in his tenure, what is he doing in Delhi university? He has no right to visit a higher education institution of Delhi.’
Bharat Singh, MLA, Najafgarh, said, ‘Om Prakash Chautala, Former chief minister of Haryana, and his son Ajay Chautla have been framed in a conspiracy at the behest of Hooda and the Congress led UPA government.’ He pointed out that while the FIR in the junior basic trained teachers case was registered years ago, the names of Om Prakash Chautala and Ajay Chautala were added only in 2008.’
Gagan Deep, chief executive committee member of Delhi university said, ‘DU should not be made political citadel and nobody has the right to malign the this prestigious educational institution.’
When contacted, Arun Hooda, president of Delhi University Student Union (DUSU) said, ‘The CM of Harayana has done a lot of developmental work in Haryana. The students were inspired by his visit.’
