DU students play it up for social causes

A country’s future lies in its youth. Taking the same ideology forward, Delhi University students took a small step towards social awakening.
Ahead of Republic Day, students of various colleges of Delhi participated in a street play organised by a south Delhi mall. The play focused on social causes which are relevant in the India of today.
The street play competition focused on multiple social subjects like child trafficking, animal cruelty, concerns in the Indian medical field, rising level of intolerance, population control and the like. The competition was held in the light of the recent happenings in the city.
The participating colleges were Jesus and Mary College, Miranda House, Khalsa College, Gargi, Bhagat Singh, Moti Lal Nehru and Maharaja Agrasen.
Miranda House college emerged as the winner in the competition whereas Maharaja Agrasen college and Gargi College were the first and second runners up, respectively.
