Six students of the Delhi School of Economics and Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) of Delhi University (DU) have been issued so-cause notices for drinking and creating ruckus at the VKRV Rao hostel. These students got together for a party after 10 pm on Friday and were accompanied by female students from other DU hostels.
VK Seth, provost of the VKRV Rao hostel, said, ‘Six students of the hostel have been summoned on Monday to give a clarification regarding this incident which took place on Friday night. They were behaving in a boisterous manner and drinking alcohol with girls from other hostels of DU.’ ‘Other students from the same hostel had informed the proctor of the incident that night itself. The proctor ordered an enquiry and asked the DU security personnel to send those girls back to their respective hostels. At that time some of the girls refused to go with the guards. They were at the gate of the VKRV Rao hostel. Later, they were forcibly taken to their respective hostels by security guards and Delhi Police officials,’ Seth added.
‘A three-member committee, which comprises DU officials, has been set up to look into this matter,’ said Seth.
