DU student alleges rape by male friend in Hauz Khas

A 19-year-old Delhi University student has alleged rape by her male friend. She has also accused him of blackmail and trying to extort money from her by threatening to show obscene video clips of her to everyone. The incident was reported to police on 5 September, and the crime had allegedly taken place in south Delhi's Hauz Khas area. The accused was arrested on Tuesday.
The girl told police that her male friend, identified as Brijmohan alias Sourabh raped her and made a video. The two had known each other since the girl was a class XII student.
A case has been registered at Hauz Khas police station. 'Raids were conducted to nab the accused and on Tuesday he was arrested,' the official said.
In a separate incident, a man was arrested on Tuesday for molesting a 22-year-old woman in the South Campus area of south Delhi.
The accused has been identified as Subhash Yadav, who worked as an electrician in south Moti Bagh area. The victim who lives in south Delhi is a computer operator. The accused was known to her and had proposed marriage to her. When the victim turned down his proposal he started harassing her.
