DU student alleges molestation by bank clerk

A Delhi University student has alleged that a bank official working at the Indian Overseas Bank had molested her. The accused was later arrested on the basis of her complaint. Furthermore, the case had invited the ire of the ABVP who protested outside Maurice Nagar police station in North Delhi. The case came to light on Wednesday, when the student, pursuing B Com honours from Daulat Ram College, had alleged that she was molested by the clerk in the bank.
According to police, the girl was on her way to college and was with the accused inside his car. She later alleged that she was molested by the accused who offered her a lift from the metro station. She left the car and returned to the college and told her friends about the incident. Her friends told her to register the case after which she went to Maurice Nagar police station and registered the complaint. The student wing, ABVP also reached the police station and protested outside the office asking the police to register the complaint and take swift action.
The accused was later arrested after the complaint was registered. “The accused was identified as Devinder Kumar, who works as a bank clerk inside the bank campus. He has been arrested and we have registered a case against him,” said a senior police official.
