Three days after a Delhi University professor was allegedly attacked by a person in East Delhi area, police are still clueless about the identity of the accused.
According to police, a case under Section 323 , 506 and 509 has been registered.
The incident took place on January 3 in East Delhi’s Mayur Vihar area. In a series of posts on her Facebook page, the woman alleged that she was assaulted at a petrol pump by a bag snatcher. She wrote that more than the physical pain, she was shocked and stunned at the ease with which a woman can be threatened with death, slapped about, abused and assaulted at a public place, while people watch around a spectacle of a woman being attacked and humiliated.
According to a senior police officer, privy to the investigation: “In the primary investigation, it appears to be a case of road rage. However, we are looking at the case from all angles. The man has not been identified yet. But investigation is underway to establish the identity of the accused.”
