According to the data with Millennium Post, the OBC fund was alloted by University Grants Commission (UGC) to 39 colleges of Delhi University in 2008 for the upliftment and betterment of OBC educational amenities, but it is being under utilised.
Total Rs 702 crore and 37 lakh has been alloted to all DU colleges, out of which Rs 409 crore has been alloted to 39 colleges in eight instalments to be utilised within five years, but in last four years, the various colleges of DU were able to utilise only Rs 105 crore.
Aatma Ram Sanatan Dharma (ARSD) got Rs 12 crore 86 lakh out of which the college spent only Rs 40 lakh.
College of Vocational Studies (CVS) got Rs 8 crore 94 lakh out of which only Rs 22 lakh was spent. According to Inderjeet Dagar, principal of CVS, ‘We were busy working towards an approval from Municipal Corporation of Delhi to construct a new building.
