Delhi University administration on Thursday withdrew permission given to a group of teachers to organise a talk by Joint Secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) Suresh Soni on the occasion of the Varsh Pratipada (beginning of the Hindu New Year). The talk was organised by the National Democratic Teachers’ Front (NDTF), an affiliate of the BJP.
Rajkumar Bhatia, president of NDTF, said, ‘The permission was denied at the 11th hour. We had invited Suresh Soni, joint secretary of RSS.’ Inder Mohan Kapahy, another NDTF functionary, said: ‘This has been done under pressure from the government.’
