DU admissions: ‘Open Days’ to begin today

Delhi University’s counselling sessions for admission aspirants, ‘Open Days’, will begin on Thursday in which <g data-gr-id="23">students as well as parents</g> can seek answers to their queries about the admission process for 2015-16 academic session.

Every year before the admission process begins for its undergraduate courses, Delhi University conducts ‘Open Days’, or sessions to give prospective applicants and their parents an idea about what awaits them.

Students and parents are invited for these sessions to get their admission-related queries addressed by DU staff.

“The Open Day sessions beginning tomorrow will be held to counsel students and their parents about
the choice of courses in different colleges and the eligibility criteria for admission to various undergraduate programmes,” DU’s Deputy Dean of Students’ Welfare Gurpreet Singh Tuteja said.

“The sessions will be held till May 30 from 10 AM to 1 PM except Sundays, in varsity’s Conference Centre situated opposite Botany Department in North Campus,” he added. DU is also mulling to make recordings of these sessions available online so the prospective students who are unable to visit the campus can now turn to its website for clearing any doubts regarding the process.

The varsity has also prepared a set of Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQs) based on queries from students in previous years, Tuteja said. The FAQs will be available on the website soon and students visiting the campus will also get the same in the form of hand-outs.

Admissions to over 54,000 seats in DU’s undergraduate courses will begin from May 28. The online registration process will be open from May 28 to June 15 while offline forms will be accepted at the registration centres from June 5 to June 15. The first cut-off list will be announced on June 25.
