DU admission forms to include ‘third gender’

Delhi University will have ‘third gender ‘ as an option in the sex category in admission form for post graduation, and also in forms for appointment of teachers. But there was no such provision in admission forms for undergraduate courses. ‘Yes, the third gender option will be included from this year. It is good that they will part of the university and get chance to study and teach,’ said Malay Neerav, media coordinator and of DU.

Till now, no university in Delhi such as Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia have any such provision in its admission form. According to sources, it is expected that from next year, even JNU and Jamia will include third gender category in their admission forms. our correspondent
