DU, ABVP protest against China’s intrusion, demands govt action

Akhil Bhartiya Vidhya Parishad (ABVP) student wing of DU on Monday, launched a massive nation-wide protest at North Campus DU, against China’s intrusion in Indian territory and burnt the effigy and flag of Chinese government.

Hundreds of angry students shouted slogans against the Chinese government and its army.

Rohit Chahal, state secretary, ABVP, termed the intrusion of China as an assault on the sovereignty of India. He said the government has failed on all fronts and blamed ineffective foreign policy of the government responsible for the critical situation, citing examples of the beheading of the Indian soldiers to the brutal attack on Sarabjit Singh.

He sought for speedy intervention at diplomatic, military as well as international level, to deal with China’s incursion.

State joint secretary Jayant Roy said, ‘Indian government must take very stern action against China for the said incident’ He also demanded a safe and secure boundary’.

Jamia ABVP president Praveen Pandey said, ‘Due to lackadaisical attitude of the Indian government, India’s image has been tarnished at international level.’
