In order to ensure smooth operation of DTC bus service and to curb the leakage of revenue through ticketless travellers or otherwise, Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) has launched a special checking drive from 11 to 17 December.
For the first shift early morning, about 1180 buses were checked by DTC’s staff. During the drive 97 passengers including 12 police personnel, Paramilitary and government staffs were caught without tickets.
DTC’s spokesperson said that the corporation has deployed all its officers and traffic supervisors from 8am to 10am in the morning and 5pm to 7pm in the evening for the purpose.
Besides, all depot authorities will also deploy additional teams for checking activities. They will deploy one team in the morning from 7am to 2.30pm and one team in the evening 2pm to 9.30pm.
DTC’s spokesperson said that the main thrust of the drive will be to check ticketless travelling by commuters besides women safety related issues and compliance of permit conditions. Ticketless travelling by home guards, police personnel, and employees of government departments will also be checked.
The overall behaviour/discipline of bus crew towards commuters, non issue of ticket by the conductors after collecting due fair, rash & negligent driving of bus, non stoppage of bus at proper bus stop, crew uniform, display of helpline numbers in bus, display of photo ID Card of the driver in the bus etc., will also be checked.
