DTC driver, conductor face the music for being ‘loud’

A driver and a conductor of a DTC bus were suspended on Wednesday for playing ‘loud’ music, causing disturbances to passengers.

While taking action against the duo, the Delhi Transport Corporation has banned playing of music on board its buses by drivers and conductors. The ban would be applicable to buses under cluster service also.

Officials said a woman travelling on a bus plying between Rohini and New Delhi Railway station had complained to the authorities that the driver and conductor of the vehicle refused to stop the music despite her repeated requests.

They said the passenger had requested the duo to stop the playing the song. Instead, the driver and the conductor forced her to leave the bus before her destination, the officials said.

After receiving the complaint over phone, an immediate inquiry was conducted, following which the driver and conductor were placed under suspension, officials said.
