DTC begins drive to check ticketless commuters

To ensure smooth bus service and plug leakage of revenue through ticket-less travelling, the Delhi Transport Corporation on Friday launched a mass-checking drive in the city. The drive was conducted for two hours from <g data-gr-id="14">8am</g> to <g data-gr-id="15">10am</g> in West Delhi areas. According to DTC, officers, including regional managers and depot managers, were deployed at 40 areas to carry out the drive.
A DTC official said ticket-less travelling by commuters, people travelling beyond destination, non-issue of tickets by conductors after collecting fare, rash driving and improper parking of bus by drivers, non-stoppage of bus at bus stops and crew uniform were checked. "Approximately, 63 passengers were detected travelling without <g data-gr-id="11">ticket</g>," he said. The checking was carried out in Palika Kendra, Parliament Street, RML Hospital, among other areas
