Drunk man jumps from police station terrace in escape bid

An inebriated youth tried to escape from police custody by jumping from the terrace of Nabi Karim police station in central Delhi on Monday. A Delhi police head constable has been suspended in the matter.
Dhanno, a resident of Multani Dhanda in Paharganj, was held for assaulting his mother and theft.
Head constable Rajnish, posted with Nabi Karim police station, said he had gone to Multani Dhanda to attend to a call made to the police control room on Monday. There, Dhanno’s mother Sharda claimed that Dhanno assaulted her and tried to strangle her. Dhanno, however, had fled from the spot. He was later picked up from Mohalla Yogmaya, where he had been caught stealing.
