Drug smugglers held

Three persons were arrested for allegedly trafficking drug and a total of 700 grams of heroin worth Rs 70 lakh in international market was recovered form their possession, police said on Sunday.

Nahar Singh and Balu Singh, both residents of Jhalawad in Rajasthan, were arrested yesterday in two separate drives based on a specific input that they are in possession of 400 g of heroin worth Rs 40 lakh in the international market.

‘A trap was laid near the traffic light in Palam on NH-8 and the duo were apprehended,’ a senior police official said.

Nahar Singh told police that he started working for local drug traffickers to meet his expenses.

In the second operation, Ghanshyam was arrested for allegedly supplying heroin in the areas in and around Sadar Bazar and 300 gms of the contraband worth Rs 30 lakh were recovered from his possession.
