Driver sexually assaults 10-yr-old inside parked bus

A 10-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a 47-year-old driver in a private bus parked near her house in the national capital, police said on Sunday. The accused has been arrested.

'The minor was lured to the bus by the middle-aged driver, who  lives in her neighbourhood in Outers Delhi’s Sultanpuri area, and sexually assaulted,' police said.

The accused has been identified and arrested.

The police said that the accused, who was identified as Rakesh Kausal, 47, lives in a  JJ Colony in the Sultanpuri area and is a driver of a private bus.

On Saturday night, he lured the victim inside the bus that was parked outside his house on the pretext of giving her sweets and sexually assaulted her.

The accused then threatened the minor victim and warned her against mentioning the incident to anyone and told her to leave the bus.

The girl was so scared that she didn’t mention her ordeal to anyone at home that night.

But something about her behaviour aroused her mother’s suspicion and the victim finally narrated the whole incident, when questioned by her mother.

The victim’s family then approached the police.

The girl was sent to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital for a medical examination, and a case of sexual assault was registered at the Sultanpuri police station on the basis of the medical report and the victim’s statement.

The accused has been  arrested and the bus seized.

'The accused, a driver of a bus, used to park the vehicle outside his house. The owner of the bus lives elsewhere,’ said a police official.
