‘DoT examining spectrum allocation at auction price’

The government is examining if telecom spectrum can be allocated administratively at the price discovered through auction, a process which was stopped following the Supreme Court verdict in the 2G case. ‘A decision has to be taken whether that auction price can be applied administratively and in what circumstances. Those are issues on which a proper policy is in process of being formulated. It must be taken to competent authority for approval,' said  Telecom Secretary R Chandrashekhar.
