New Delhi: Government today said it has sent a dossier to nominate Delhi in the World Heritage list of UNESCO.
Minister of State for Culture Shripad Naik informed the Rajya Sabha that two cities have been identified for the nomination in the World Heritage list.
The nomination dossiers of Delhi’s Imperial Capital cities and Mumbai’s Victorian & Art Deco Ensemble have been submitted to the UNESCO, he added.
To a question on the inclusion of Kolkata as the Heritage City, he said that no proposal in this regard was received.
‘No proposal for inclusion of Kolkata city in the tentative list of the World Heritage list has been received by the Archaeological Survey of India so far,’ he said.
He further added that a property first needs to be listed under the tentative list as per the guidelines of the World Heritage Committee.
