DMRC set to license out 82 shops at 37 Metro stations

Delhi Metro is all set to issue licences to 82 built up shops at 37 Metro stations in Delhi. With this initiative, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) will generate substantial revenue which will help in financing Delhi Metro projects. The ownership rights of these shops will be granted for nine years.

The 37 Metro stations are Shahdara, Tis Hazari, Pratap Nagar, Kanhaiya Nagar, Rohini West, Rithala, Rohini Sector 18/19, Arjangarh, Sikenderpur, IFFCO Chowk, R K Ashram Marg, Jhandewalan, Karol Bagh, Rajendra Place, Patel Nagar, Shadipur, Kirti Nagar, Ramesh Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Subhash Nagar, Janakpuri East, Uttam Nagar East, Uttam Nagar West, Nawada, Dwarka, Punjabi Bagh, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar East, Paschim Vihar West, Peeragarhi, Udyog Nagar, Surajmal Stadium, Nangloi, Nangloi Railway Station, Rajdhani Park and Badarpur Border Metro stations.

These shops will facilitate the DMRC commuters by providing one-stop solutions for their needs on the other hand it also provides incentive for private sector participant developers to augment their business. 

These Metro stations are in prime locations of Delhi region which are easily accessible by road, sub-urban railway network and Metro network from all parts of Delhi. 

“These built-up shops are proposed to be licensed out for various uses as detailed in this document through open bidding process. The built-up shops have prominent and spacious frontage and captive commuter base. These built-up shops shall present a unique opportunity for retail players,” said a DMRC official.
