DMRC celebrates Foundation Day

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) celebrated its 21st foundation day on Sunday.

Mangu Singh, managing director of DMRC reflected back on the major achievements of the preceding year and said “The scale of activity in the present phase of Metro construction in the NCR has been enormous to say the very least. On the operational front additional statistics are now being taken not only for peak hour traffic but peak of peak hour traffic owing to the ever increasing ridership. Over 90 percent of the Rolling Stock procured by DMRC had been manufactured in India thanks to the indigenization efforts made by DMRC.”

“Delhi Metro has changed the course of public transport in India. DMRC has maintained the reliability and punctuality of Metro services. The punctuality of the trains during 2014-15 remained 99.88 per cent,” said Madhusudan Prasad, Chairman, DMRC and Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development.
