DJB fixes leaked pipeline

Delhi Jal Board officials on Tuesday set right the burst in the 1000 mm diameter pipeline in front of the DESU Colony at <g data-gr-id="13">Pankha</g> Raod. According to a DJB official, this pipeline supplies water to the Cantonment area, NDMC and RK Puram through the Palam underground Reservoir (UGR). Most of the DJB’s Water Treatment Plants are situated in North and Northwest Delhi, near the course of the river and the canal systems, which provides raw water. The pipelines carry water across the city for long distances and water is pumped at great pressure due to which the pipelines become vulnerable to leakages and bursts.
