The exhibition which will continue till 8 February features iconic items pulled from Hard Rock’s vault and combined to form a unique collection called 50 Years Of Rock And Pop Fashion.
50 Years Of Rock And Pop Fashion highlights rock’s fashionable side and the clothing that has become just as much of an artist’s identity as the equipment they use. The tour features a selection of stylish items, including the pink waitress uniform worn by Britney Spears in her (You Drive Me) Crazy music video and Johnny Cash’s all-black suit which perfectly represents his legacy as the Man In Black. Lady Gaga’s The Addams Family-inspired dress designed by Belgian designer Toon Geboers, and the jacket Ron Wood wore to his 60th birthday party in 2007 are also featured in the collection.
Commenting on the collection, Hard Rock historian and tour curator Jeff Nolan said, 'We have spent nearly two years, scouring our 77,000 piece collection, to pull together a collection that will interest our guests. The collection showcases a unique part of music history and gives fans an opportunity to see that history first-hand.'
Jeff further added, ' It took us over 30 years to collect it the pieces. We spent 2 years selecting and gathering the pieces for the travelling exhibits. There are about 150 pieces currently travelling the world on display. The first piece Hard Rock ever acquired was a Fender Lead II guitar from Eric Clapton. He gave it to the original London Hard Rock back in 1978 in order to mark his spot in the restaurant. A few days later, Pete Townshend saw it on the wall and gave us a Gibson Les Paul with a note that read, “Mine’s as good as Eric’s any day”.'
Hard Rock International is the world’s original curator of music memorabilia with the most far-reaching collection.
The 77,000+ piece collection, which celebrates new and legendary music icons, is the world’s greatest collection of music memorabilia.
WHEN: On till 8 February
