Din in UP assembly over slur on Ambedkar

Uttar Pradesh assembly on Thursday witnessed pandemonium when the members of the main Opposition party Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) staged protest over the statement of a state minister on B R Ambedkar.
The BSP MLAs created a din in the House and even trouped in the well of the House when debate on general Budget was in progress. During that debate minister of state for rural engineering Rakesh Singh Rana commented that the previous BSP government had misused the name of Ambedkar and even tried take political mileage from his name.
The BSP members led by leader of the opposition Swami Prasad Maurya staged dharna in the House while raising slogans against the government demanding apology from the minister. Maurya said that his party will not tolerate insult of Ambedkhar at any cost.
Even after perusal by speaker Mata Prasad Pandey that he will delete the objectionable portion of the statement of the minister, the BSP members refused to budge.
Later, the speaker completed the house amid noisy scenes and adjourned the house till Monday next.
