Dikshit takes on Opposition, says no room for divisive politics

Dikshit on Sunday addressed six separate public meetings organised under Okhla, Burari, Model Town, Moti Nagar and Sadar Bazar assembly segments in support of the Congress candidates Asif Mohammad Khan, Deepak Tyagi, Kanwar Karan Singh, Sushil Gupta and Rajesh Jain, respectively.

Speaking at the rallies, Dikshit said that Delhi belongs to everybody and the city has been providing similar amenities to one all irrespective of their state of origin, caste, creed, language or religion.

‘Our government has been upgrading the infrastructure in order to ensure modern amenities for one and all. It would continue to do so in the next five years after formation of the next Congress government. There would be no scope of any discrimination under the Congress regime. We are not like other parties which have been concentrating on divisive policies and exploitation of certain sections. Their actions continue to weaken our composite culture,’ Dikshit added.

Dikshit added that most of the families coming in search of employment opportunities are forced to settle down in the unauthorised colonies.

‘As a sensitive government it became our duty to make their stay comfortable. The colonies were regularised to make the residents proud owners of their properties. The government has spent around Rs 7,800 crore on development works in the colonies,’ she said.
