Dikshit releases handbook on city’s statistical data

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday released Delhi Statistical Handbook - 2013 brought out by the directorate of economics and statistics. This is the 38th issue which contains data relating to various socio-economic parametres under 23 broad chapters.
The publications is likely to prove useful to policy planners, researchers and analyst. The handbook reflects a vibrant capital city.
Dikshit while briefing the media said that Delhi is the richest state in country with the per capita income of Rs 2,01,083. It has increased by Rs 27397/- in comparison to 2011-12. An amount of Rs 6,65,679/- crore was deposited in 2847 branches of various banks in Delhi as on 31.03.2012.
This reflects the prosperity and sound economic situation in the capital city because of proactive economic policies of Delhi Government.
‘There are around 36 lakh domestic electricity consumers during. The total number of consumers is 44.64 lakh. With regards to water, per capita consumption in Delhi is 49 gallons per day,’ the report said.
While referring to the better road infrastructure, Dikshit claimed that the road length in Delhi in 2013 is 33,198 lane km. Around 3.36 lakh vehicles were registered during 2012-13.
