Dikshit elated with govt schools Class X results

Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has congratulated students, teachers and parents for the improvement in the pass percentage in the Class X CBSE results. The results of Delhi Region has gone up from 97.92 per cent in 2012 to 98.4 per cent in 2013, an increase of 0.48 per cent.
The result of government schools has also witnessed an increase of 0.22 per cent, up from 99.23 per cent in 2012 to 99.45 per cent in 2013. Dikshit also expressed her pleasure at the increase in the number of schools where 100 per cent of the students passed the examination.
The number of such schools was 400 last year, which has gone up to 597 this year. Similarly, the number of schools achieving 90 per cent and above pass figures has increased by 400 schools. The number of such schools was 505 last year which has gone up to 924 schools this year.
Dikshit stated that this reflects the commitment, devotion and hard work put in by the teachers and the officers in the directorate of education. It is also a testimony to the improving standards of schools in Delhi.
Delhi education minister Kiran Walia also congratulated the students, parents and teachers for their excellent performance in the CBSE class X exams.
'This has become possible because of the hard work put in by the students and the teachers and the government's efforts to promote the atmosphere in the schools to provide best education,’ said Walia.
The result of government schools this year is better than that of public schools and government-aided schools in Delhi. The pass percentage for Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas in Delhi is 100 per cent, which is more than that of Delhi KVS (99.80 per cent) and public schools of Delhi (99.17 per cent). Dikshit described this as a remarkable achievement.
