In line with efforts to promote events and entertainment festivals in the national Capital, Delhi Tourism Minister Kapil Mishra on Tuesday expressed his department’s support towards the U/A festival that heads to Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium, India Gate for its first ever edition this weekend, February 13-14.
The U/A festival is a brand new festival for all ages introduced by Only Much Louder, creators of some of the country’s most loved festivals like NH7 Weekender and Stage42. The festival features a diverse mix of experiences — music and comedy performances, a range of carefully picked activities, and specially crafted immersive experiences.
Addressing a press conference at the Delhi Secretariat, Mishra said: “We are pleased to see new exciting events come to Delhi, which had previously been starved of festivals, events and performances. The single window clearance system, the Delhi Government’s crackdown on corruption and every single Minister’s personal commitment to buy tickets instead of getting VIP passes has incentivised the event industry to come back to Delhi. I thank them for reposing their faith in us and hope that every event company makes Delhi, their cultural headquarters.” Tickets to the festival are available on Insider.in, and can also be purchased at the festival venue on February 13-14. Children below 10 years and grown-ups above 60 years enter free.
Vijay Nair, CEO, Only Much Louder added, “With this brand new festival, we are going beyond just music and comedy to create a more interactive and immersive experience. The support we have received for our new endeavour from Delhi Tourism and EEMA (Event & Entertainment Management Association) has been incredible and very encouraging. With this one, we hope to create a quality entertainment experience for people of all ages. Be it 9 or 90, the festival has something for literally everyone.”
The festival will offer a mix of attractions that will appeal to children, teenagers as well as adults. It features six curated zones including The Big Stage, where Farhan Live (actor-director Farhan Akhtar’s live music outfit), international YouTube sensations Boyce Avenue and some of the country’s well-known comedians Tanmay Bhat, Abish Mathew, Biswa Kalyan Rath and Anuvab Pal will perform special sets that they don’t usually play at other live events.
The Food and Flea Bazaar will feature independent artists, craftspeople, DIY makers, entrepreneurs offering some great food and creative finds.
