Dhir joins BJP, calls it ‘homecoming’

In a big blow to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), former Delhi assembly speaker and AAP MLA from Jangpura MS Dhir joined BJP on Friday. Dhir termed the move as ‘homecoming’ as he had worked with BJP since the age of 18.

‘I will quit politics and even leave the city, if it is proved that I had applied for the ticket in upcoming assembly polls’, replied Dhir when confronted with questions pertaining to denial of ticket by AAP. He said he complained to Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia against some party workers who were fulfilling their ‘personal interest’, but in vain. ‘The people of my constituency are happy with my work. But a handful of selfish party workers were engaged in mud-slinging for their vested interests’.

Will Shazia challenge Kejriwal?

Delhi’s BJP office is abuzz with the rumours that the party is planning to field former AAP leader Shazia Ilmi against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi. Delhi BJP incharge Prabhat Jha told media persons that leaders from other party will join the party soon. He, however, refused to divulge any details.
