In her own inimical style, Trinamool supremo and Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee appealed to all political parties to stand united on Tuesday via Facebook and join the no-confidence motion against the UPA Government on Day 1 of the winter session.
Banerjee explained on Facebook that the no confidence vote is ‘in the greater interest of the motherland, so that corruption and anti-people decisions are thwarted’. She went on to express her knowledge about the CPI(M)’s decision that they are not going to support the motion because it is being moved by the Trinamool Congress. ‘I will have no hesitation in voting for the No-Confidence Motion moved by them, and for that reason even if I am required to go to the Party Headquarters of CPI(M) for discussion, I will do so’ Banerjee said.
‘She is most welcome to visit us. She is the Chief Minister. But she has not appealed in person to our leaders’, CPIM leader Gautam Deb told Millennium Post. Her party MPs were also hopeful of the TMC getting the required numbers on the floor of teh House. ‘We are going all out and we are confident about getting support from other political parties’, said TMC MP, Sisir Adhikari.
Banerjee was however confident of the CPI’s support. ‘I spoke to Shri Gurudas Dasgupta, the CPI leader because I have come to know through media that they had agreed to support the No-Confidence Motion against the UPA Government...CPI being a part of the Left Front, I requested Shri Dasgupta to take up this matter with the CPI(M) Party’, she said on her Facebook profile on Tuesday.
