Dense fog causes more fatalities on Yamuna e-way

On Sunday morning, there was yet another accident on the expressway, which claimed the lives of a father and his daughter on Sunday morning.
The victims, residents of Noida, were coming from Agra when their car hit a stationary truck in Mathura region. The victims sustained grievous injuries and were taken to nearby Kailash Hospital in Greater Noida where they were declared dead. This is the fourth major accident on expressway in the past week in which 11 people lost their lives, while over 50 suffered injuries.
According to police, the accident took place around 8.30 am, 20-kilometre before Jewar toll plaza on Agra-Greater Noida carriageway, when the speeding car hit hard the stationary truck. Akhilesh Shirvastav (48), who was driving the car, could not notice the vehicle and rammed into it. The impact of the accident was so high that most parts of the speeding car were damaged and the victims, Akhilesh and Dakshika Shrivastav (22), were thrown out of the vehicle.
